These dummy rounds were made at the Royal Laboratory in Woolwich Arsenal London. Dates vary between 1939 and 1943. This is the Mk2 Round, the ‘Z’ on the base indicates it was loaded with nitrocellulose propellant rather than cordite. It was the standard military revolver service ammunition during WW2. It was used in the Webley Mk4 revolver and the Enfield No2 Mk1.
These rounds are period correct for collector displays. They contain no explosive compound and are completely inert. As such, they do not require a licence to obtain or hold.
