This is an Italian copy of the legendary Winchester 1866 rifle, also called the “yellow boy”. This design was the first Winchester rifle and was originally chambered in .44 Henry. It is built around a brass/bronze alloy receiver and its design and construction were popular on the US frontier. It was also used by several armies in various wars around the 1870’s.
It’s eye catching receiver made it popular in western movies and it has grown a cult following over the years. This example is produced by Uberti and has been deactivated to the EU standard by the London Proof House in 2026. The leaver can be cranked and the bolt moves on cranking. The loading gate can be moved and the hammer moves backwards and forwards.
