An Egyptian AKM with domestic production side folding stock. This gun was built by Maadi Company for Engineering Industries in Cairo using Russian machinery and expertise. Early guns were built on Russian receivers supplied by Izhevsk, this led to people thinking the early guns were actually Russian with Arabic written on them (especially as the Arabic markings are lightly added with laser rather than traditional engraving. This is a slightly later rifle with a Maadi built receiver and change leaver markings in Arabic.
On the left hand side is the word “Egypt” followed by the calibre in Arabic. The serial number is in Arabic next to the Maadi proof mark.
This rifle is in good condition with usual marks associated with age. The top cover and magazine are detachable and the trigger moves.
It is deactivated to the EU specification and comes with a London Proof House deactivation certificate issued in 2026.
