A rare opportunity to purchase a genuine piece of British Army history. Operation Agila was a United Kingdom-led Commonwealth peacekeeping force deployed in Rhodesia from December 1979 to March 1980. It enforced a ceasefire to enable a peaceful transition from an unrecognised state to the recognised state of Zimbabwe.
This AK, was taken from Rhodesian insurgents and was returned to the UK as a war trophy. We do not know its exact history but perhaps someone out there will recognise it.
The AK itself is a Bulgarian copy of the AK-47 series 3 with brown plastic pistol grip and stock most likely Chinese manufacture. The front grip and gas tube furniture are Bakelite.
This Kalashnikov came in on a part exchange and has been re-deactivated to the current EU specification in 2026. The trigger moves and the top cover and magazine are removable. It is supplied with a London Proof House Deactivation Certificate.
