This rifle has a 24 inch octagonal barrel and boxwood inlet into the buttstock. It has a gold plated lever, loading gate, front and rear sights, hammer, fore-end cap and butt plate. Action and barrel are blued.
The rifle is a smaller lighter version of the 1886 Just over 1 million of these rifles were produced between 1892 and 1932. The 25-20 calibre was developed around 1895 for the model 1892 rifle, it’s a necked down version of the 32-20 Winchester cartridge. It was designed for ease of reloading and used for small game hunting.
